Eerie Encounters
After reading our Summer 2026 cover story [“Legend Has It”], you shared some campus lore of your own.
“When I was a student (last century), I worked in the Pioneer Theatre wig shop on University Street. Late night hours there could be extremely weird—odd footsteps, phantom voices. Definitely haunted.”
AMANDA MITCHELL BA’97, SALT LAKE CITY, UT
“If the former Carlson Hall [where the S.J. Quinney College of Law now sits] had been proven to be haunted, I wouldn’t be surprised. Old buildings often have weird vibes; the quieter and the more empty they are, the more ‘alive’ they seem.”

Utah Man
Readers couldn’t wait for the Morgan Scalley era of Utah Football [“Built for This Moment,” Summer 2026].
“When my longtime friend John Pease stepped down as defensive coordinator [in 2015], he told me that Morgan Scalley was exactly the perfect person to assume that coaching position. JP was a consummate judge of character and talent!”
DON GLASSER BA’71, ATLANTIC BEACH, FL
“The right man for the right job at the right time. Let’s go do it.”
LEE DAVID MILLIGAN BA’93, MURRAYSVILLE, PA
“Looking forward to the next legacy-building coach for my beloved Ute Football team.”
